WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Physical therapy rehabilitation involves the treatment of musculoskeletal and neurological injuries to improve overall physical function. We utilize various interventions to include therapeutic modalities, exercises and functional activities to promote pain relief and restore motion and strength. Our therapists will assess joint motion and stability, muscle strength and flexibility, muscular and cardiovascular endurance and your ability to perform activities of daily living. We will develop an individualized treatment plan so that you can recover within your comfort zone while achieving your rehabilitation goals.
As the name suggests, land therapy is a type of physical therapy that involves therapeutic activity on land to promote healing and athletic performance. Whether you are returning from an injury or simply trying to increase your fitness and overall health, physical therapy is a great way to help your body work the way it’s supposed to. For those who are able to handle moderate resistance and impact, there is no better or broader therapeutic route than land therapy. Land based programs that we utilize include:
DYNAMIC STABILIZATION ACTIVITIES
BALANCE & COORDINATION
ISOKINETIC & CLOSED KINETIC CHAIN EXERCISES
CARDIOVASCULAR-AEROBIC CONDITIONING TRAINING
SPORT SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES & TRAINING
Aquatic physical therapy is conducted in a safe and controlled water environment allowing the buoyancy property of water to provide less stress on joints and muscles. With the supervision and assistance of a specially trained physical therapist, aquatic physical therapy can be highly beneficial for improving function and relieving pain. Although weightless, the water can be used to create resistance and can help to increase muscle strength, endurance and balance. The water level is adjusted appropriately for each patient, so it is not necessary to know how to swim in order to participate! Specialty treatments offered at The Woodlands aquatic location include:
FUNCTIONAL DRY NEEDLING
ACTIVE RELEASE TECHNIQUE
WHAT WE DO
We evaluate and develop a physical therapy program specifically for each patient based on treatment needs. Patients are instructed on proper form and completion of every exercise or stretch provided. Once a patient has completed their recommended treatment plan and reached maximum improvement, a Home Exercise Plan can be provided to continue performing at your best. Specific physical therapy exercises and stretches can help your body stay in balance and healthy.
